其實我有收藏一塊這種復古蕾絲 只是在台灣

My sister and her family recently bought their first home.  The previous owner was a sweet elderly lady.  She had these old lace curtains that weren't my sister's style.  I asked if I could have them.  I've been trying to think of fun ways to use them and this was the first idea I had.  I'm calling it my "Granny Chic Tote."

I used fusible interfacing on the exterior and interior.  I like firm bags that don't flop around.  I took the bottom scalloped edge of the curtains and laid it across the front and back of the purse.  I stitched across the scalloped edge and then treated it as one piece from there on.

I sewed the front and back together and boxed the corners.  I centered the scallops on the front and back so the it would be symmetrical and the lace would match up on the side seams.

I made the interior the same way as the exterior and I added the super heavy interfacing (peltex) along the bottom (between the two layers).

I also added a magnetic snap.  Then I sewed the interior and exterior together with bias tape.

There are a few pockets in the inside.

And that's it.

It's pretty big.  I needed lots of space, so I went large on this one.
